CCP Insulation in the Düker Building
In Brunsbüttel, Raffinerie Heide GmbH operates a culvert structure as part of the pipeline and logistics infrastructure connecting the tank farm to the processing facilities. As part of modernization and retrofitting measures, critical pipeline connections were to be designed to meet long-term requirements for safety, corrosion protection, and operational reliability—all while being installed in very confined spaces.
ISOFLANGES supplied custom-designed CCP insulation flange systems for this project, which were specifically engineered to withstand pressure on one side. The combination of a pressure ring and an Insulating ring ensures reliable electrical isolation of the piping systems without requiring additional structural modifications in the already limited installation space of the culvert building. This allows the existing infrastructure to remain operational while also making it future-proof for the ongoing transformation of the energy supply.

CHALLENGE
- Reliable electrical insulation in the CCP context under unilateral compressive stress
- Very cramped installation conditions in the culvert structure; limited installation space
- Integration into existing piping and CCP structures without extensive modifications
- High Operational Safety Requirements in a Sensitive Refinery Environment
- Durable, low-maintenance design for critical energy infrastructure
Project Partners
- Heide Refinery, LLC
